Hello Riverina - Interviewer

This week my role as interviewer allowed me to to see mostly what was happening on the floor, unlike last week where i was in tapes and couldnt actually see most of behind the scenes.

This week i feel we could have done better, our final product last week seemed alot smoother and this week we didnt live up to what we had done previously.

On the floor i noticed the camera operators werent too comfortable using the cameras, they could have done with a bit more practice but in the end they got most of the shots right. The Floor manager did a good job although he could have been a bit louder, but to me i think he did it well, i new all my cues and i when to wrap things up, he did make my job a little easier.

The CCU i was impressed with, they seemed to have had it all under control, the same with the vision mixer. It could be because they came in the night before to get their roles down pat.

Tapes appeared to work fine without a problem. I couldnt hear the DA being on the floor without a headset so i cant comment on how they went. The sound had a few glitches but they tried there best to cover them. Although i didnt have much to read off the teleprompter i think they did a good job in keeping up to where i was up too and were prepared well for the role. The stage hands seemed a bit sloppy, one of them seemed as if they didnt want to be there, they just didnt seem too impressed.

All in all this weeks final product looked alright, there were a few glitches and it wasnt as smooth as last week, but it wasnt too bad.

TVP105 Week 1 - VT

Today my role, in the Hello Riverina show, went quite smooth. Because i had come in earlier to rehearse and learn a bit about my role in Tapes, i was able to be prepared fairly well for todays assessment.

The whole show ran really well today and i think our group is coming together as a team, and we are all starting to really work out our roles and how they work.

In tapes today i was a little unsure of a few things but slowly worked them out. Writing down the time codes of the clips instead of searching through the tapes made my task alot easier as there are a few cuts where i had to find the head of the clip more quickly then other parts, although throughout the rehearsals i managed to get it right.

The final recording was a bit confusing for me as i had the levels turned down and couldn't here the audio coming through when playing back which was a bit of a concern, but luckily it was only that.

Watching back the final product i noticed that there was a problem cutting to tapes in that there was a delay, this wasn't the vision mixers problem as if he cut to tapes it would have been black, although im not sure if it was the directors assistant or my problem as i was waiting for his cues to cut to the VTR's and i think he was calling them a bit late which caused the slight delay for the cut to tapes.

Other then that issue for me i think that todays assessment ran rather smooth with little errors, and i think we are starting to work as a team much better.
